Today, we’re going to be talking about Baggage; I’m going to give you three tips that will ensure that your bag gets to your destination with your every time.

So, the first tip is:

1. Make sure you get to the airport ontime

When the airlines tell you what time to get to the airport, there’s a reason for that.  As they need all the time to get you checked in and get your baggage with you to your destination.  So get to the airport ontime is the first one.

The second one is when you are checking in make sure that the agent checking you in checks your bag to the correct destination.

Let’s say for example you are going from Okinawa to Tokyo say to Los Angeles; make sure your bags says LAX, not NRT or not HND.  HND is the other airport in Tokyo and NRT is the international airport although Haneda is also an international airport now.

But, just make sure your bags says the final destination you are going to and make sure that agent ask you and ust say hey you checked it to Los Angeles right? And they’ll say yes, put LAX on it and you’re good to go.

So that’s #2.

The third on is that when you make your reservation, look at the connection time, make sure you have enough time to make your connection.  As sometimes if your connection is too quick your bags may not make it and you make it.  Or if your flight is delayed your bag may not make it and you make it.

Now, typically, when your bag does not make it on that flight, it makes it on the next schedule flight the airline has or if they don’t have one for a little while they’ll find another method of getting it to you.

Usually they will deliver it to wherever you’re staying, so make sure your name is on the inside and also the outside of your bag. This way if the tag gets lost they can still figure out whose bag is it.

And the phone number you should have is the destination phone number or your mobile so they can always get in touch with you.

So there are three tips that can help you:

  1. Get to the airport ontime
  2. Make suer your bags are checked to the correct destination and
  3. Don’t have such a short connection time in case of delays
