I was talking to a friend online just this past weekend and told him I was in Berlin, Germany. He sent me a link to the IFA – Consumer Electronics Show and asked if that’s why I was here. It was not, but being the geek I am, I had to venture out and check it out.
I tried yesterday and unfortunately, ended up at the IFA Gallery which is a totally different place. Tried as I did on the Internet, I could not figure out where this place was. Eventually I did after asking a few people and ended up there today.
Its huge! Huge I say. I don’t think its as big as CES in las Vegas, but it comes very close. It’s the usual stuff, but it was cool of course. I even found some cool travel gadgets, flossed and brushed my teeth compliments of Phillips and also had a shave as well. it’s weird brushing flossing, brushing your teeth and having a shave while people are watching, but I did it; check those three off the bucket list :-). See photos below.
One of the coolest things I saw was a 3-D TV for which you don’t need 3-D glasses, how cool is that now? It uses technology that figures out where you are sitting and beam the images to you, I think. It was neat to seat as those 3-D glasses hurt my face when I wear them anyways. Perhaps due to my big head :-).
The travel gadgets were from a company called iLuv Creative Technology, based in Port Washington, NY and iLuv Travel Products can be found on Amazon.com.
Here’s a video demonstrating the products at the show.
Here are some photos from the show.
