The Plaza Premium band is always expanding. You can read about a review I did of the Aerotel in Singapore. Adding facilities in London-Heathrow is the latest expansion. So, if you’ve just arrived from a transatlantic flight into London-Heathrow, then a stop in the Plaza Premium Lounge London-Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 (The Queen’s Terminal) Arrival is highly recommended. It is easily accessible on the arrivals level just to the left of exiting the Arrivals Hall.
Additional lounges with similar facilities can be found in Terminal 2 Departures, Terminal 3 Arrivals, Terminal 4 Departures, Terminal 4 Arrivals and Terminal 5 Departures.

Opening Hours
The Lounge is open from 5a to 10p daily.
Entry Requirements
There are several ways to access this Lounge. It could be:
- airline invitation (an airline who has a relationship with the Lounge)
- credit card or Lounge card relationship – Priority Pass, American Express, Diners Club, Dragonpass, Citibank and HSBC
- cold hard cash – 1 hour (37 USD), 2 hours (49 USD), 5 hours (79 USD)
The Lounge
The lounge is like a one-room school house with a magazine rack on the left as you walk in, a long sofa next to that, two round tables, a work station at the back, another round table to the right of that and the bar on the left, then you’re back at the check-in counter.
There’s also a Spa, a Nap area and Showers.

Bar/Food Prep and Distribution Area
This area is well stocked with delicious food. As you’re in the U.K., you’ll get standard English breakfast (ham, sausage, beans, tomato, potatoes and scrambled eggs).
Breakfast disappears at 11a and then comes lunch.

Lunch comes with a soup, salad, main course and desert.

Entertainment
There are two large screen TVs on the wall behind the bar. They were tuned to local stations. There is mood music throughout the lounge.

Magazines and Newspapers
There is a good selection of current magazines and newspapers.

Shower
There are three showers. Ask the front desk for access. Depending on your access level, the shower may be free or at an additional cost of 20 GBP.
They are typical showers, with a toothbrush and toothpaste, a comb, shower cap and stuff to wipe off your makeup. There’s a floor mat and a towel. Shampoo and shower gel are dispensed in the shower. There is no hand lotion.

Toilets
There are male and female toilets available inside the lounge towards the back next to the bar. standard toilets, with two urinals and one stall for the men.

Spa
They do have a Spa available, you do have to book this at an additional cost; about 1 GBP/minute. You do need to give them a few hours notice though as they need to book a different space that’s not in the lounge area itself. You may also arrange a manicure as well.
Nap
There is a nap area available at an additional cost. It is actually more than a nap area, its a full hotel room with a bed, your own shower and a mirrored vanity area. The current rate is 60 GBP for three hours for the single room and 90 GB for the double room for the same time period. You can get additional times for an additional cost.

Luggage Storage
So it looks like they forgot to think about luggage storage as there’s no designated place for it. As a result, luggage is kept with you at your seat or they are left on trollies across from the check-in desk.

Power
Power is UK 220V at 60W plugs in the wall. The wall plug are only U.K. plugs. I did ask if they had an adapter, but was told no. Later one of the attendants advised me that they do have a USB port on the desk in the back and were in the process of adding them elsewhere in the room.
Work Area
There is a large desk at the very back that seats about eight people. It has power ports as well as a place sit and place your computer.

Verdict
I liked the Plaza Premium Lounge at London-Heathrow Terminal 2. It’s great value for money and a great place to unwind before starting your adventure in London once you arrive. I would have loved to have some lotion, Baileys (they were out when I asked) and they need an area for luggage storage.
