Houston, TX 12 Nov. 2009. Twas the month before Christmas and all through the airport, not a WiFi-less passenger was seen, not even a mouse. As Google is offering free WiFi in select airports throughout the United States. Even in airports such as Las Vegas McCarran, NV (LAS) and Orlando, FL (MCO) where WiFi was already being offered for free.
To make it even more fun, there is a photo contest which starts on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009. Just take a picture of you using the free WiFi in an airport and voila. Umm…I wonder how they can prove that you are using their WiFi?
Personally, I think that WiFi should be free everywhere and never understood why some airports charge and others do not, just seems strange to me. I have an airline airport Club card so I get free WiFi in the Club anyways, but at airports where such a Club is not present, I’m hosed as I refuse to pay for WiFi in an airport unless it is absolutely necessary. I wonder where my airport tax goes?

Hey I just found your site on google and I think it is awesome, I have personal experience with this and it is great to see it being discussed.
I’m in San Antonio International Airport, San Antonio TX (SAT) now enjoying WiFi compliments of Google, except I think SAT already had free WiFi. Have you experienced the free WiFi as yet?
I was In Seattle-Tacoma International, Seattle WA (SEA) last night, but they are not participating. I got the angry AT7T WiFi screen asking for my credit card :-(.
