I’m often asked how many countries I’ve visited. While this sounds like an easy question, it’s actually quite complicated. My number changes constantly as I’m always traveling. Serbia then Bosnia & Herzegovina are the two latest ones claimed in October 2012. I had a great chat with my fellow travel blogger Theodora as she wrote a post and asked about the countries visited.
The number of countries/geographic areas visited is currently at 104 or 107 depending on how you count it or even more depending on the list you use.
I use the Travelers’ Century Club list, but a bit loosely. I say loosely as they count places like Alaska, but I just count that as part of the United States (I’ve set foot in all 50 states so that’s great).
So my number is really based on countries/geographic regions which you can see below. Maybe I should just say places visited?
So where do you stack up? Please leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts.

That’s an impressive list, alright, Kerwin. And because you’re not calling them all countries you get my vote!
🙂 Thank you Theodora. I loved your numbers too…
