Air Force 2 and the Vice President of the United States visits Seattle

These photos were taken  on Tuesday September 7, 1998.  I had no idea the the Vice President of the United States would be in Seattle, Washington USA for a Labor Day picnic.   This Boeing 757-200 (N80001) is the first of three deliveries that the U.S. Government will make this year.  They have already taken delivery of two of them.  These airplanes are replacing the older Boeing 707 in the government's fleet.  I stopped by the Kings County Airport just for some pictures, however here is what I saw.

The Vice President is the person almost directly under the nose of the 757-200 in the green golf shirt and khaki pants.   In the distance, you can see the first 747 ever built.  This airplane is being stored at Boeing Field.

The Vice President took time out to greet a few people.  The airplane patiently waited.

Minutes after Air Force 2 departed, the airport was re-opened, after being closed for about 30 minutes or so.
