Cannes | Cannes Film Festival 2001 | Hotel: Pierre & Vacances | Nice

At the airport in Nice (NCE), there was a nice sign welcoming everyone to the Festival.	I do not know what is the name of this lady, however, she seems to be a movie star as there were several photographers taking pictures of her, people taking pictures with her and her signing autographs. I went outside to wait for the bus to Cannes and her car just happenned to be across from the bus stop. Do you know who she is? E-mail me.

The Palais de Festival

Festival attendees mill around trying to spot a star or two.		Rolling out the red carpet for the stars.	A look at the main cinema from the other side of the road.

The Pavillions

An E! News reporter submits his story.	The British Pavillion. These people are huddled together to listen to a football game. Soccer for you Americans :-).	Attendees mill around the pavillion area. A jumbotron constantly shows movie clips.		The sunsets on Cannes and the pavillions.

The Majestic Barriere Hotel

				The Pier for the Majestic. Note a cruise ship in the harbor.

The Main Street of Cannes

The Grand Hotel.	Promoting a film magazine with walking billboards.	The Noga Hilton.	Looks like some kind of TV production being recorded.	More of the Noga Hilton.

The Carlton Intercontinental in all its splendor

This hotel was decorated with almost all of the major movie posters.				Looking down the street at the Carlton.

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider. The second phot was in the center of the hotel, actually covering the hotel's name.		Rule the Planet (Planet of the Apes).

The Carlton Intercontinental's Pier

This is the pier in front of the Carlton. A film crew was busy interviewing an actress.	The poster for Jurassic Park III. Just for the record, I have not seen any of these movies.		A yacht, The Lady Moura is berthed in the harbor. Note the helicopter on the deck and the launch that awaits.


This Rolls Royce was parked across from the Carlton. Everyone ran over and started taking photos of the two ladies that were inside. As it turns out, they were not famous.	The Miramar Hotel; you can also see a part of a Pearl Harbor sign.	The Hotel Martinez		An actress is seen doing a photo shoot atop the overhang of the entrance to the Hotel Martinez.

Attending the Film Festival at Night

At the airport in Nice (NCE), there was a nice sign welcoming everyone to the Festival.		These three stars garnered the most praises from the fans who were waiting. These photos are the reason why I like taking airplane and airport photos; I am much better at doing that :-).
